I’m a single parent of 2 teen boys: Jess (16) and Joey (14.) I’m also a children’s mental health therapist. I’ve been doing the parenting thing alone for 12 years. I have been blessed with the gift of being able to analyze and empathise which helps tremendously in parenting (and counseling.) However, a huge portion of humility is crucial!

I also have a passion for writing. So, I took my experiences, observations, and education and put it into a parenting book intended to encourage warmly, support greatly, and guide gently. Hopefully the readers will also get a few chuckles out of it. I strongly believe that laughter is essential in raising healthy kids. The book is called Raising Amazing Grace and will be available in time for Christmas 2012.

Music is an important part of our lives. Between Jess and Joey, they play 9 instruments or more. They are both involved in band class and extracurricular bands. When they are at home, they are searching for sheet music or creating sheet music online. They love shopping at Guitar Center for gadgets. In their spare time, they jam. I play NO instruments, but I love listening to the practice sessions at home and the performances at various venues around the city.

I love talking about parenting, life, and totally random silliness. I shy away from discussions of politics, the environment, and celebrity hair styles.
